Road to Paradise by Kelly Fletcher

Road to Paradise (Southern Sunsets, #1)Road to Paradise by Kelly Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a beautiful book, I picked it up because it was a small town romance. It started off as a typical ambitious heroine stepping into a small town to take over the company and then fall in love with the place story, but what bumped me over were the characters.
We have read books where the corporate heroine falls in love with the country side cow boy or a macho farmer, but the family she interacts with is a delicate bunch, which demands that life has to slow down.
We take so much for granted in our fast paced life, but if we are to live with certain neurodivergent conditions or health issues, life will have to slow down for the family. But will an outsider make the sacrifice? Would she able to understand the situation and take on the challenges?
This is such a beautiful story full of meaning and hope. I really would recommend this book.

I am a fan of mysteries and I love historic mysteries especially because the means of doing and solving the crime are a lot more logical than scientific. I did not read the first installment, so the characters were all established, but we jump straight to action.
Philip’s sister finds a man murdered outside the shop she works at. She approaches her brother to solve the crime. Virginia west wants to return the favor to Philip Brown by assisting him to solve the murder. Together they embark on a perilous journey. As they unveil one mystery, they find more and more danger lurking round the corner. Can they solve the mystery and escape unscathed? It is a very captivating read and I enjoyed every bit of it.

This is a very delightful book which teaches kids about the value of compassion, empathy and selflessness. It is a Chinese folktale narrated with beautiful illustrations. A mysterious Jade emperor sends four animals on a mission, and when they are presented with the challenge, each animal goes far and above to display kindness to a stranger. But one makes the ultimate sacrifice. It’s a lovely book about giving, and it also gives an insight into Chinese culture and the Mid-Autumn festival. I really enjoyed it.

This is such a cool book for kids. It’s a lot educational along with fun and adventure. On the first day of school, the class pet goes missing. The young kids in school each have a special super power. The class teacher Mr.Stan encourages them to work together to find the pet. It is okay to ask for help as you are finding yourself. The book is cute and the illustrations bright. I thoroughly enjoyed the book !
